Greetings

Science : We create the future with the passion of youth.

231 faculty members, more than 1,000 undergraduate students, and 2,000 graduate students and researchers are working day and night in classrooms and labs to uncover the ultimate secrets of nature.
Natural science is the study of the universal laws of natural phenomena. Although natural science is a pure science that explores scientific principles, it is also the mother and source of cutting-edge technology that is the core of national competitiveness in the era of the fourth industrial revolution.
Seoul National University’s College of Natural Sciences is a world-class college representing Korea in the field of natural sciences, comprised of 5 faculties (Mathematical Sciences, Physics and Astronomy, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Earth and Environmental Sciences), 2 departments (Statistics, Brain and Cognitive Sciences), and 6 interdisciplinary programs (history and philosophy of sciences, genetic engineering, neuroscience, bioinformatics, computer sciences and technology, and biophysics and chemical biology). 231 faculty members, more than 1,000 undergraduate students, and 2,000 graduate students and researchers are working day and night in classrooms and labs to uncover the ultimate secrets of nature.
After 40 years since Seoul National University settled in Gwanak in 1975, Seoul National University's College of Natural Sciences has emerged as one of the world's top 20 world-class colleges. Although world-class science colleges boast hundreds of years of history and tradition, we will compete with them with the passion of our youth to become a top 10 world-class college in the near future.
What we dream of at College of Natural Sciences is a future where we create the first scientific discoveries that have never been seen elsewhere in the world and new technologies that will create a new world that no one could have ever imagined. Students who study the mysteries of nature with great curiosity today will become one day world-class scientists tomorrow and illuminate the future of mankind.
In particular, I hope that we will take the lead in establishing new education and research for the new normal as we come together in overcoming the difficult times brought by the COVID-19 outbreak. For this, I hope that all members of College of Natural Sciences will move forward together by forming a warm academic community. I wish everyone good luck. Thank you.
