SNU CNS & HYUNSONG International Scholarship Program Application Guidelines for Fall 2025
The College of Natural Sciences at Seoul National University (SNU CNS) is pleased to announce the SNU CNS & HYUNSONG International Scholarship Program for Fall 2025, generously supported by the HYUNSONG Educational & Cultural Foundation. This prestigious scholarship aims to support outstanding international graduate students who demonstrate exceptional academic potential and a commitment to contributing to the development of their home countries. This scholarship provides a competitive stipend for a designated period, offering an excellent opportunity for international graduate students aspiring to pursue advanced studies at SNU CNS. Prospective applicants must submit their applications for both SNU admission and the SNU CNS & HYUNSONG International Scholarship simultaneously. Eligibility for the scholarship is contingent upon admission to the College of Natural Sciences at SNU. We strongly encourage all interested candidates to carefully review the guidelines outlined below for detailed information on eligibility, application procedures, and benefits.
1. Eligibility
- 1)Be enrolled in a Master’s program or a Combined Master’s and Doctoral program at SNU CNS, including those who have submitted an application for Fall 2025.
- 2)Be an international student from a country listed on the DAC List of ODA Recipients (Refer to [Appendix 1]).
- 3)Demonstrate outstanding academic performance, with a minimum GPA of 3.1/4.3 in the previous semester. (This requirement does not apply to newly admitted students.)
- 4)Not be receiving duplicate scholarships from external companies or foundations, except for on-campus scholarships.
2. Scholarship Benefits
- 1)Stipend: KRW 10,000,000 per semester
- 2)Duration
- - Master’s program: Up to 2 years
- - * Combined Master’s & Doctoral program: Up to 5 years
Continuation of the scholarship is subject to a review conducted each semester.
3. Required Documents

- 2)Recommendation Letter from the Head of Department (Free format)
- 3)Undergraduate Academic Transcript
- 4)Master’s Degree Academic Transcript (Not required for newly admitted students)
4. Important Notes
- 1)If any submitted documents are found to be inaccurate or falsified, the scholarship application may be canceled.
- 2)Scholarship recipients MUST fully refund the awarded amount if they take a leave of absence or withdraw during the semester.
※ If a leave of absence is required due to a national disaster, diplomatic issues, illness, temporary recall by the home government, or other unavoidable circumstances, prior notification must be given to the major’s administrative office. - 3)Due to the high volume of inquiries, applicants are expected to thoroughly review the guidelines before reaching out with questions. Failure to do so may result in delays or difficulties in receiving individual responses. Applicants are solely responsible for any consequences, including disqualification from the scholarship, if they fail to follow the provided instructions.
